May. 10th, 2009 @ 03:59 pm The Three Question Personality Test
Seems, er, reasonable:

Your Personality Is Rational
You are both logical and creative. You are full of ideas.
You are so rational that you analyze everything. This drives people a little crazy!

Intelligence is important to you. You always like to be around smart people.
In fact, you're often a little short with people who don't impress you mentally.

You seem distant to some - but it's usually because you're deep in thought.
Those who understand you best are fellow Rationals.

In love, you tend to approach things with logic. You seek a compatible mate - who is also very intelligent.

At work, you tend to gravitate toward idea building careers - like programming, medicine, or academia.

With others, you are very honest and direct. People often can't take your criticism well.

As far as your looks go, you're coasting on what you were born with. You think fashion is silly.

On weekends, you spend most of your time thinking, experimenting with new ideas, or learning new things.

Mar. 15th, 2009 @ 06:20 pm What's Your Personality Type?
True beyond a shadow of a doubt:

You Are An INTJ
The Scientist

You have a head for ideas - and you are good at improving systems.
Logical and strategic, you prefer for everything in your life to be organized.
You tend to be a bit skeptical. You're both critical of yourself and of others.
Independent and stubborn, you tend to only befriend those who are a lot like you.

In love, you are always striving to improve your relationship.
You have strong ideas of what love should be like.

At work, you excel in figuring out difficult tasks. People think of you as "the brain."
You would make an excellent scientist, engineer, or programmer.

How you see yourself: Reasonable, knowledgeable, and competent

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Aloof, controlling, and insensitive

You Are a Carrot Cake Cupcake
You are a complex person. You have many interesting layers to your personality, though others might not know it.
You are drawn to a cross section of people. You friends play different roles in your life.

You are like a cupcake because you are are deceptively simple. There's actually a lot to you!
There are many ingredients in your life, and you only want them in proper amounts. Being you is a delicate art.

Apr. 12th, 2008 @ 09:12 am Fic Update
This (or any) post is long overdue around these parts, but I'm well into the "so-busy-and-exhausted-that-I-can-barely-raise-my-head" season, and therefore it will also be quite cursory, I regret to say.

Chinese Zodiac Meme )

In other news, I haven't forgotten the Mary Sue meme, even overwhelmed with work as I currently am, but it has ended up taking a back seat to a short piece for the Valentine's Day challenge over at [info]flist_a_fest . I will post a link to that one here after February 14th.

The other story ideas continue to simmer at some level and will come to fruition when ready. At least that's what I keep telling myself....

And someday, when we all least expect it, Tonks may insist that I stop ignoring her and open that blasted thread on her possible personality type.

Jan. 31st, 2008 @ 10:55 am A Quick Post
just to say "Thank you!" to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday so far today!

Must dash right now, but I'll be back later to post more personal notes to all of you, as well as see about starting that conversation on personality types, a certain pink-haired Auror we all know, and how hers may affect her relationship with a certain non-pink-haired non-Auror. (And vice versa, for that matter.)

Oh, and there is an update to an earlier post I may be needing to make within the next day or two, so keep watching that space....

UPDATE:

Well, that little trip I took ended up swallowing the bulk of the day, so I will just reiterate my thanks for now to [info]bratanimus, [info]katyhasclogs, [info]gijane7702, [info]ravnclw_lioness, [info]wizardelfgirl, [info]roh_wyn, [info]phoenixfyre13, [info]dragon_faere, [info]lizetm, [info]gilpin25, [info]duck_or_rabbit, [info]metawolfmagus, [info]cressida0201 (and happy birthday to you too!), [info]katyscarlett76, [info]charlie_flowers, [info]utah_yoda, [info]willow_wand and Rox (who knows where she dwells). Hope I didn't miss anyone, and I will get back to all of you individually!

UPDATE:

It's at 643 words and counting. Only two scenes -- yes, she said scenes (?!)-- left to go, so maybe by the time the weekend is over, should we all live so long...

Just don't pelt me with refuse if it fails spectacularly.

UPDATE 2:

No progress today, I'm afraid. The fits and starts continue, but at least there have been starts lately!

While I question the apparently stereotypical nature of the male/female part of the evaluation, most of the other components seem reasonably accurate.

Most are fairly obvious, but I do wonder if one or two will go unrecognized. We'll just have to see.... (And no cheating!)

UPDATE: Revised and expanded, since I realized that it was quite paltry compared to the majority I've seen.

Jan. 12th, 2008 @ 03:27 pm Establishing Priorities
From the one or two of you out there who read my infrequent posts, I'd appreciate a little feedback.

Fic-wise, I have two WIPs going right now that have missed their deadlines and so no longer need hurrying along. I also am toying with the idea of developing a sequel to an earlier story and may even want to participate in my first fic exchange soon, although obviously this would entail not only writing to the dreaded deadline again but to someone else's semi-detailed specifications.

Therefore, what should now be the obvious question is this:

Poll #1120239
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All

Which should I do first?

View Answers

Complete the story about Remus becoming friends with James and Sirius?
6 (40.0%)

Complete the story about Remus and Tonks sharing an unusual post-mortal existence?
7 (46.7%)

Pursue that sequel?
1 (6.7%)

Try that fic exchange?
1 (6.7%)

Thanks for your input!

UPDATE:

Thanks very much to everyone for the feedback! It looks as though the first two options are running neck-and-neck, with the one that is actually farthest along in development holding a slight edge at the moment. So, "sheltered Remus nearly gains two enemies instead of two friends" -- written from Sirius' POV -- gets the nod, at least for now. (It also doesn't hurt that it should be the shortest of the two WIPs and therefore the quickest and easiest to complete.)
